Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 LIVE: Results declared for all 543 seats, BJP wins in 240, Congress in 99 (2024)

Indore's incumbent MP Shankar Lalwani won the Lok Sabha elections from the constituency with the highest margin of 11.72 lakh votes.

He was followed by Congress' Rakibul Hussain, who won by the second-highest margin with 10.12 lakh from Dhubri in Assam.

Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan won from Vidisha by 8.21 lakh votes, the third-highest margin, followed by the BJP's CR Patil, who recorded a margin of 7.73 lakh from Navsari in Gujarat.

The Election Commission of India has declared results for 542 of the 543 Lok Sabha constituencies, with the BJP winning 240 seats and the Congress 99

The result for the Beed constituency in Maharashtra -- where the NCP (Sharad Pawar) candidate Bajrang Manohar Sonwane is leading the BJP's Pankaja Munde -- is still awaited.

While the Lok Sabha has 543 members, counting was held for 542 seats after the BJP's Surat candidate Mukesh Dalal was elected unopposed.

Italian PresidentGiorgia Meloni congratualed Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the BJP-led NDA won the Lok Sabha elections.

Certain that we will continue to work together to strengthen the friendship that unites Italy and India and consolidate cooperation on the various issues that bind us, for the well-being of our nation and our people."

The BJP described Tuesday's results of Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal as not up to expectation but said the voting percentage of the party has increased.

BJP state spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Samik Bhattacharya also said that the party is happy that three TMC candidates, who had been elected on BJP tickets in the last assembly polls and changed camps without resigning, have been rejected by people.

"Yes, our result was not as expected. We accept the mandate of the people of Bengal. We will self-introspect. But our vote share has definitely increased compared to that in 2019," he said, without mentioning any figure.

BJP heavyweights Smriti Irani, Arjun Munda, Ajay Mishra Teni and Kailash Chaudhary were among the 13 Union ministers who tasted defeat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, as stunning losses in three Hindi heartland states forced the BJP to rely on allies to form the government.

Minister of state for education Subhas Sarkar was defeated by Trinamool Congress candidate Arup Chakraborty in Bengal. In In Jharkhand's Khunti Lok Sabha constituency, Union Tribal Affairs Minister and sitting MP Arjun Munda lost to Congress candidate Kalicharan Munda.

Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Kailash Choudhary stood in third position in Rajasthan's Barmer. Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying L Murugan lost to DMK's A Raja by a big margin.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday released a video message to the people of Wanayad in Kerala and Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh and thanked them for showing trust in his party. Speaking on whether he would remain the MP of Wayanad or will choose Rae Bareli,Rahul Gandhi said he wanted to represent both the constituencies.

AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday slammed the BJP and said that party's poll performance was below its expectations due to its hate politics during the last 10 years and the false promises it allegedly made to the people.

Owaisi, who won the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency for a fifth consecutive term, said he will extend support, if necessary, in the event of Narendra Modi not becoming the prime minister for the third term.

"We have publicly taken a stand that we will stop BJP," he told reporters in Hyderabad.

The Bharatiya Janata Party's Harsh Malhotra defeated AAP's Kuldeep Kumar to win the East Delhi Lok Sabha seat by a margin of 93,663 votes.

Malhotra, a first-timer, was fielded by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in place of outgoing MP and cricketer Gautam Gambhir.

The BJP won all seven seats in Delhi in the 2014 and the 2019 general elections, and is set to repeat the feat for the third time.

Impressed by the INDIA bloc's show in the Lok Sabha polls, Shiv Sena (UBT) president and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday pushed for staking a claim to form the next government at the Centre and said the opposition alliance's leaders will meet on Wednesday in New Delhi to decide on the Prime Minister's face.

"There is a need to stake a claim to form the next government. The INDIA alliance meeting on Wednesday (in Delhi) will decide on the Prime Minister's face," he said.

Thackeray also said leaders of the Congress and other parties are holding talks with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Telegu Desam Party (TDP) head Chandrababu Naidu to explore the possibility of their entry into the bloc.

Senior Congress leader and former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot on Tuesday said that the public has given a clear message to the ruling party that the kind of governance they were giving is not acceptable.

"The alliance has to make the political decisions. There will be an INDIA Alliance meeting tomorrow. The counting would also be complete by then and we will get the final numbers. The public has given a clear message to the ruling party that the kind of governance they were giving, is not acceptable," Pilot said.

Congress candidate Ujjwal Raman Singh on Tuesday secured a win on the Allahabad Lok Sabha seat, ending the party's 40-year-long dry patch when actor Amitabh Bachchan was elected.

According to the Election Commission, Singh won the seat by a margin of 58,795 votes against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Neeraj Tripathi. Singh got a total of 4,62,145 votes, while Tripathi received 4,03,350 votes.

Union minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday won from the Nagpur Lok Sabha constituency for the third time in a row, defeating his nearest Congress rival by a margin of 1,37, 603 votes.

The senior BJP leader polled 6,55,027 votes against 5,17,424 votes received by Congress' Vikas Thakre in 20 rounds of counting.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also thanked voters of Jammu and Kashmir for showing unprecedented enthusiasm by voting in record numbers in the Lok Sabha elections.

"The voters of Jammu and Kashmir have shown unprecedented enthusiasm by voting in record numbers. They have also shown a mirror to those who try to defame the nation. I salute the people of this occasion of victory," he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his victory speech at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, said that after 1962, it is the first time that a government has returned to power for the third consecutive time.

"There are many aspects of this mandate. After 1962, it is the first time that a government has returned to power for the third consecutive time after completing its two tenures," PM Modi said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday took a jibe at Congress and said that the grand old party has been wiped out in states like Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim.

"After 1962, for the first time, a government has comeback to power for the third time after being in power twice back to back...in Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim, Congress has been wiped out...BJP is going to form government in Odisha...BJP won a seat in Kerala as well, our party workers in Kerala have made a lot of sacrifices," PM Modi said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is going to form government for the 3rd time.

"On this sacred day, it is confirmed that NDA is forming government for the 3rd time. We are grateful to the people," PM Modi said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his victory address to BJP workers with chants of "Jai Jagannath". He also thanked the Election Commission of India and special forces for conducting the world's largest election smoothly.

He also thanked all candidates and voters for participating in the largest festival of democracy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the BJP headquarters in Delhi after NDA secured 291 seats in the Lok Sabha elections and thanked people of the country for their love and blessing to the National Democratic Alliance.

"I thank people of the country for bestowing their love and blessings on NDA. The ruling alliance is strongly headed to form government at the centre for the third consecutive term," PM Modi said.
