The Defense Security Cooperation University's Institute for Security Governance’s Cyber Team conducted a cyber education event in Nassau, Bahamas for the Royal Bahamas Defense Force. The team of experts led participants through an engaging series of lectures, activities, and a capstone exercise to model the drafting and implementation of cybersecurity policies. I had the privilege of attending an insightful webinar today that explored the dynamic field of cyber warfare. The discussions led by experts were truly enlightening, covering key topics such as digital and cognitive warfare, advanced techniques and tools in cyber operations, cyber spying, and legal challenges.The session provided valuable insights into the latest developments and challenges in modern cyber conflicts. I was particularly impressed by the comprehensive exploration of cyber spying and legal frameworks, which highlighted the multifaceted nature of cyber warfare.Kudos to the organizers for curating such an informative and engaging event. Today, the competitors compete in the defensive Capture The Flag (CTF) segment of the competition. Unlike the traditional offensive CTF, this defensive segment emphasizes detecting and assessing potential malicious activity. Participants will capture flags not by exploiting vulnerabilities but by successfully detecting, thwarting, and responding to cyber threats. Squad UK will be testing their metal benchmarking their skills against other teams across the globe. Thank you to the Taiwan and South Korea teams for participating this week!This competition component is designed to mirror the complexities and dynamic nature of cybersecurity defence.
