WWE SmackDown Results, Highlights & Winners (April 19, 2024): The Bloodline assaults Kevin Owens (2024)

AJ Styles & Street Profits becomes the #1 Contender, new Tag Team titles unveiled, Bloodline assaults Owens, Tiffany attacked Bayley & Naomi and much more!!!!

The April 20, 2024 episode of Friday Night SmackDown is officially over and it is one of the must watch episodes on the road to Backlash pay-per-view. A number of championship contender’s were found & the blood flooded attacks were featured on the show. Get to know what happened on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, as we came out with the complete show summary, highlights, results, winners & grades.

WWE SmackDown Summary & Highlights

Undisputed WWE Championship #1 Contender’s Match- LA Knight vs AJ Styles

The match began with LA Knight taking the initial control, by taking Styles out of the ring and banging his face on to the announcement table. Back in the ring Styles looks to fight back, but Knight again sent him out to slide kick.

During the commercial, Stlyes hit Knight on the face with the knee. Back in the ring, both have a cross body splash taking both down. Styles went for the rapid strikes, but Knight countered it soon with back to back strikes and a corner leg splash. Knight took him to the top rope and hit him with a vertical super-suplex.

Styles soon managed to hit a Moonsault-reverse DDT and a Pele kick. Styles went for the Phenomenal Fore Arm, but Knight counters with a powerslam. Styles poke Knight’s eyes and connects the Phenomenal Fore Arm for the win. AJ Styles will be challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Backlash France.

Solo Sikoa Arrives

Paul Heyman waits for Solo Sikoa to arrive. Solo with the coat arrives. He introduces Tama Tonga as the newest member of The Bloodline and his MFT. Heyman about to comment on this, but Solo asked where is Kevin Owens and asked Heyman to take him there.

New WWE Tag Team Championship unveil

Nick Aldis introduced Triple H to the ring. Triple H says that the SmackDown is sold out with 15,000+ in attendance. He says that Adam Pearce & Nick Aldis are doing a great job for their brands. Aldis went on to introduce the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Austin Theory & Grayson Waller. Triple H and Aldis unveiled the WWE Tag Team Championship and gave it to the tag team champions.

Waller tried to disrespect Triple H, but Aldis warned them and said that, if they disrespect them again their title will disappear soon. He introduces the tag team contenders, who will be having a Fatal 4-Way match next to face Waller & Theory for the titles.

Fatal 4-Way Tag Team #1 Contender’s Match- Street Profits vs New Catch Republic vs Authors of Pain vs Legado Del Fantasma

Tyler Bate and Montez Ford start the match with both countering each others moves. Humberto tags himself in taking down Bate. LDF looks to take down Montez Ford, but Angel tagged Akam in and the AOP took control right away taking all the other teams down.

After the commercial, Rezar takes control of Ford, taking him on the shoulders, trying to break him in-half. Ford managed to tag Pete Dunne. Both the members of New Catch Republic took down AOP. Street Profits and New Catch Republic took Rezar in control, making Bate to go for the swing. However LDF stopped him.

All the teams went for the top rope, where AOP took everyone down with a Powerbomb. Humberto tagged in and they hit their finisher, but Bate and Dunne stopped them. Both lock Angel & Berto with the Ankle lock, but they countered it.

Rezar powerbombed Angelo Dawkins and Akam powerslammed Pete Dunne over Dawkins. All the team were aware that AOP is the real threat and took them down. The remaining teams take eachother down, where The Street Profits took Humberto with the blockbuster from the top rope, over the shoulders.

New Catch Republic took everyone down and hit a Moonsault from the middle rope, with Ford hitting the front flip senton over the ring post. Back in the ring, Dawkins LDF took Bate and Dunne out. Dawkins tagged himself in and The Street Profits hit RevAlation for the win.

The Bloodline & Kevin Owens

Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa couldn’t able to find Kevin Owens. Solo walks away from him, Heyman stopped him saying, he can make decisions, but not now. He also made it clear that Heyman doesn’t want to mess with him anyway.

Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman went to the ring, where Heyman said that there is a backstage politics going on. The WWE Universe chanted “We want Roman” & Heyman tried to address his status, but Solo pulled the microphone from him.

Solo with a huge boo, said that he had to lose his beother last week to earn his MFT, Tamaa Tonga. He calls him to the ring, but Kevin Owens with full of blood on his head crawled through the entrance way. Tama Tonga followed him to reveal that he was the one who made Kevin Owens bleed.

The Bloodline raised for the ones, but Kevin Owens came to fight Tama Tonga. Owens fights Tonga, but Solo Sikoa hit a Samoan spike on him. The securities came to separate Solo, but Tama Tonga ain’t stopping. He brought a chair to attack Owens, but Nick Aldis asked him to leave. Solo and Tama Tonga with Paul Heyman left the ring.

Backstage- Nick Aldis & Paul Heyman

Nick Aldis took Paul Heyman to the parking lot, to show him that Tama Tonga’s car just smashed Kevin Owens’ car. Aldis blamed Heyman for this. But Heyman doesn’t know, what is going on. Aldis says that not only the loss has consequence, but also these kind of actions. He warns Heyman & The Bloodline, it will have serious consequences.

Carlito vs Santos Escobar

Carlito took initial control of the match by taking down Escobar with a spine buster and a drop kick. Escobar is sent out and Carlito hit him with a Springboard Crossbody. After the commercial, Santos Escobar took control of Carlito with a step-up enzigiri and a Hurricanrana from the top rope.

Carlito fights back and went for the ropes. Eliktra Lopez distracts, Vega pulled her legs, but Lopez swings her to the barricade. Escobar take advantage of the distraction, to hit Carlito on the groin, sending him shoulder first to the ring post and with a Fantom Driver for the win.

Damage CTRL, Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair

Damage CTRL were interviewed on the gallery about the future of Damage CTRL. Kai says SKY will get the championship back, once she feels that it is the right time, but they still have the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Jade Cargill’s theme played, where Belair and Cargill confront them.

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes from The O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom cuts a promo saying that he will bring the title to every country and addressed AJ Styles’ win and he says that he is ready to face him at France. Next week they will be signing the match contract to make it official.

WWE Women’s Championship- Bayley (C) vs Naomi

The match began with both countering each other’s move. Bayley however took Naomi with a back to back shoulder throw down. Naomi fights back and both clashed in the middle with a double Crossbody. Naomi hit a Bulldog and a Rear View, but Bayley kicked out.

Naomi still has control of the match with a Bulldog to the turnbuckle and a Cross Body from the middle rope. Bayley fights back, took Naomi down and went for the elbow drop frop the top rope, but Naomi counters. Naomi hit Bayley face first. Naomi went for the ropes, Bayley counters with the knee and connects the top rope elbow drop.

Bayley went for the Rose Plant, but Naomi counters and rolls down. As Balyey kicks out, she counters with a submission maneuver. Bayley escapes and both exchange hands. Naomi took Bayley in control with kick to the back of a head and a knee to the face, sending Naomi out.

Bayley hit a Bayley-to-Belly suplex on Naomi over the announcement desk. However, Tiffany Stratton came from nowhere and attacked Bayley and Naomi, ending the match in a no contest. Tiffany took both to the ring and hit the Prettiest Moonsault on both of them.

SmackDown Results

• AJ Styles defeated LA Knight to become the #1 Contender for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
• Austin Theory & Grayson Waller were crowned as the new WWE Tag Team Champions.
• The Street Profits won the Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Match to become the #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
• Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga assaulted Kevin Owens.
• Santos Escobar defeated Carlito by pinfall.
• The WWE Women’s Championship match between Bayley & Naomi ended in a no contest, following the interference of Tiffany Stratton.
